Am i correct in thinking that if i tighten the wastegate arm i will hold a higher boost at high revs---just fitted dawes+boost gauge--fuel cut seems to be cutting in at about 1.15 bar so ove set it to just below 1.1 bar, what ive noticed is in 2nd& 3rd gear it will boost to about 1.1 but it then drops to about 0.85/0.9 at about 5-6k revs. Will tightening the wastegate cure this??????(my98 btw)

I'd be interested to know this also. I'm running an MY97 with full decat and dawes set to 1.2 bar peak with a dawes fuel cut-out raiser. It tails off to around 1 bar at 6k-ish. Should I tighten my actuator rod?

Yes you can adjust the rod and it can work well.... to a point.

1 bar at 6K is a sensible maximum on a TD04, 1.25 bar midrange if you have the fuelling and the timing to go with it.

So do you think I'm playing with fire running 1.2 bar midrange without a re-map? My AFR meter always shows rich. I am going to get a knocklink to be safe though. Should I dial the boost down?

You need the knocklink.
