How does Power Engineering compare to other rolling roads ? Difficult figures or easy ?
How much power are the 2.5's on this board producing ?
these figures x 2.5/2.0 equates to 581 power and 488 torque.
So I guess that's the power they "should" be achieving from a 2.5 assuming it is fed by a big enough turbo ??
Andy: Bob said it was a TD05 hybrid on Sunday but I am not sure if he was on the level. My TDo5 will run Sunday but it is a bit behind Bob's. What has happened to cause this power explosion?
Ok I do own up ... and it is a 2 litre.
This was with the same set of maps that were in the car at Well Lane, and yes its with my V5 Link, still trying to find away around the Jecs engine load limit and the Motec just hasn't been in the car long enough to get a decent map in it. We repeated the run three times, all three graphs were almost identical. For interest at 50% throttle it made over 400 bhp (1.4 bar max), at 75% throtle 445 bhp. Initially had problems with slip but the tyres warmed up and then putting extra weight in the back didn't change the graphs so no slip. It makes boost earlier on the road so effective torque would be a bit higher than that recorded. Is it a street car well I would say definately, I do have to be a tadge careful when the wet stuff is about though. Its been a staged progression to get to this, still some work in progress as well.
The turbo .. I do describe it as a "TD05 hybrid" as it does use some parts from a TD05 ... not saying which ones though and Allied Signal did help out here and there.
cheers
Big big thank you to Matt Clark and the guys at Roger Clark Motorsport for the tlc put into the engine build.
