i have a turbo boost problem that makes the boost oscallate as shown on my boost guage. took my scooby (MY00 - full decat, VTA dump valve) to a specialist and they first checked around the turbo and found oil around the seals and also inside the intercooler and hoses.
i had the car serviced at a main dealer 2 week ago and they put 5w/30 oil in. the guy at specialist said this was no good and could be the cause of the problems above, and changed it for 10w/40 helix, i also checked in the service manual and it states only to use 5w/30 in temperatures that are below 0C to -30C.
if the wrong oil is blame? would i have a case for getting the dealer to pay for the work / parts?
cheers, peccy.

It could be oil quality - lighter poorer quality oils can create more vapour which recirculates through the breather system into the induction.
If this is the cause - change to a better quality oil such as Motul and this will pretty much disappear.
However it could be turbo oil seals - harder to prove - they do go, especially if turbo is not cooled properly - and can leak into the induction.
Is there is specific problem - or is your induction system a bit oily (not uncommon to see pools of oil in the intercooler!).

cheers trout.
hopefully now ive got some better oil in and they have cleaned the old oil away, things should stay clean then.
the best problem actually started occuring before they put the wrong oil in.
heard it may be my full-decat(3inch) confusing the ECU. so could be a excuse for a remap
going back to Jap Innov this weekend for another check.
