KL at high temps/low boost
#1
Anyone had their KL light up at high temps / low boost, say after pulling away from a long traffic jam?
It has happened to me twice in 14mths of ownership. Very light throttle, boost definitely not more than 0.5bar. I got a splash to red and then back down to a dim green.
Hardly happens at all, just wondering if anyone else had encountered the same. MY01 JDM STI RA. 40000kms. Cheers!

It lit up cos it detted ... lots of heat soak, hot charge temps, pull away and use some boost and PING, best advice is to always drive for a few minutes off boost to allow the intercooler and general underbonnet to cool down, you would have had 50-60 degree temp in there if you were in traffic for any lenght of time. You don't need much to set it off.

Is this the kind of scenario that would benefit from I/C water spray? Quick squirt of the jets just before pulling away to help get rid of the heat being stored in the I/C... sounds good in theory but not sure about the reality.
Still considering fitting water spray, if only I can find somewhere to fit the tank! ABS equipped car

PaulM,
Deffo use the washer bottle if you have an abs equipped car, I've got my WI kit coming from the washer bottle with no adverse effects, tho I'll be gettin a boot mounted tank soon enough.

Thought about using the washer bottle... I'd have taken the pipes from the headlight washers but I don't have them! Are cars without headlight washers fitted with a different bottle, or can I just add the pump to the existing bottle?
I suppose it's possible I already have a second pump fitted and just can't see it... need to take the bottle off and have a look. Any idea of the cost of a new bottle with second pump for headlight washers if I don't have one?
