Click here for a sound bite from my car.

I have a Nurspec R, 1st class build quality, awesome sound and a bung for when you want to be discrete.

How discrete does the bung make it? How much are these Blitz pipes? Those welds are fantastic.

No problem with the BB grounding out, but have scraped the mid section on the occasional sleeping policeman.

You only get the bung if you get the Nurspec R, which includes the center section, with the bung fitted mine's as almost as quiet as standard.

Yeah the welds are awesome, even the center section is a work of art, no UK made box touch these for quality.

I found that I lost a bit of low down torque probably thru lower back pressure (less torque loss if you just change the BB), but the car spins up to high revs much smoother/quicker imo.

I like the Firestorm, imo the best UK box, but hate the 5" pipe that visibly narrows down to 3" inside the tailpipe, looks like a Halfords chrome zaust end trim to me.

Give JW Racing or TSL a call, they can tell you all about power/torque gains etc.

The Blitz does look fantastic. The only other bb that comes close in terms of looks(imho) is the HKS Super Drager.

The Drager is a load quieter than the Blitz. Blitz is there to make a racket, the Drager is to be as free-flowing as poss while passing the JASMA test thing

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the replies!

Singh, to tell the truth the car is my bro's, family got it for his 21st a few months ago, I'm just buying the exhaust for it.

Cars is not used everyday so will not be worried about the noise levels plus the Blitz has the optional bung.

i chose the firestorm over the blitz, i preferred the way the firestorm exited the rear of the car straight on rather at an angle to the left. firestorm is very loud and amplifies the flat four sound. welds are polished flat and has a fancy hanger too. garage which fitted mine said it was the best exhaust they had ever fitted and the fit loads all the time. only complaint is that the tailpipe has no logo or name engraved on it. hope this helps ya.

Isn't it the HKS Hyper's that exit at an angle ?

My Nurspec and others I have seen all exit straight out of the back.

Very happy with the Blitz

Take a look at a Firestorm from behind, imo they look strange, as if its a chrome end-piece or a bung, not dissing them or the quality tho.

Another satisfied Blitz owner here. Only went for the backbox which I got from Jamie. Excellent quality and looks great. Sound is awesome. Wouldnt get one if you use the scoob as a family car as it might make ur kids sick in the back with the resonance

Only problem is that it vibrates the rear view mirror a bit which blurrs your view. And its hard making no noise when coming home from work at 4am

Heres a pic of mine before it got fitted.

Cheers P1Fanatic, Big Goon and everyone else. Blitz definitely looks the business.

*** for price, it depends if you just want the back box or if you want the backbox and decat. The backbox on its own is around £370 i think where as the backbox and decat middle is £472 + vat which works out about £550. I have found one company that will sell it for £499 which includes vat and delivery and it will sell it to the normal public (not just trade).

I can get them for £472 but it depends where you are. If i send it to you, it will probably work out the same as the £499. Definitely worth a think about though

Question

How much torque is lost?

I would hope that I would gain something apart from noise?
What sort of power gains are achived with the NUr back box and decat center?

I would prefer more torque as this is what provides acceleration whilst on the move. I bought a turbo car for the torque!

Depends if you have a standard system, I went from a cat-back ScoobySport system to the Nurspec R and lost a bit of torque, but it's still much better than the standard exhaust.

If you want big power gains from an exhaust then you'll have to change uppipe, downpipe, mid section and backbox, then fit a boost guage and get your car rolling roaded to check for boost spikes.
