The milltek is highly thought of for the STi7s, for what it's worth, although you might get some boost spiking without modifying your restrictor with that system. I do seem to remember reading about bigger boost spikes with a new up-pipe, and the STi7 doesn't have a cat in the standard up-pipe so the gains would be smaller than on the WRX. Having said that, I have a scoobysport up-pipe on my WRX and completely happy with it
I take it you don't fancy doing the work yourself? Did my downpipe and full exhaust fine with me and brother on ramps in an evening, although the up-pipe is a lot more involved to do.

As I had my STi 7 after all these Boost Spike threads can anyone explain what was causing them...
I take it it was because mainly of decatted downpipes....
I ask (worryingly) as last week I had fitted a PPP tailbox and mid-section only.... The car sounds much better, picks up better and definalty goes better.
Do I have anything to worry about. ???

Mine (or, more accurately, Carolyn's) was the first UK car I believe to show boost spikes after a decat - it was decatted the day it was registered on 01 March.
I've played all the combinations - replacement up pipe, plus full decat from turbo back will give 1.7 bar spikes without other means of control (restrictor changes etc). OEM up pipe plus decat from turbo back will give 1.5 bar spikes. OEM up and down pipes, but both centre sections and backbox replaced is absolutely fine - I ran mine like that for six months until the PPP was fitted and it was showing max boost 1.35 to 1.4 bar at the gauge which is pretty much per a standard car.
You should have nothing to worry about with your present combo

David I would love to help but we are fully booked this weekend. It can be fitted by anyone who is happy under the bonnet and would take approx 2-3 hours without a vehicle lift.
It was us that developed the restrictor fix for the 7, despite others saying it couldn't be done. There are hundreds of cars using this with our downpipes now, all running perfectly.
