Cat removal?
#1
Can any please help me with what am sure is common knowledge to most scooby owners
(1) Where are the catalyst situated
(2) What is required to replace them?
(3) What do you do with sensors?
(4) What does the ecu need to have done to it to account for the removal if anything?
All threads seem to be conclusive that this mod is a sure fire way to increase performance.
But before I go shop would like to know what I want need and what I am talking about plus any probs I may encounter after fitment.
Thanks Mick

you can remove a catalytic converter which blah blah lets you past emissions..or just go for a new exhaust system which allows you to have a straight through system anyway. i.e scoobysport one.
The cats are on the exhaust, they are those big fat things on the exhaust which make it look like a hose pipe with a huge RAT stuck in it or something.
Just put it on and sod everything else! sorry it's late i know but i think that's it!

well the cats are, one in the midsection and one in the downpipe. the exhaust system is seperated by three parts, back box, midesection and the downpipe. the downpipe has a sensor in it that just screws on and off. the exhaust is quite easy to change apart from the downpipe so do it yourself if you can to save money. the downpipe is just blimin hard to undo the bolts!without a cat the turbo spools quicker so you really feel the turbo kick in a lot quicker! IT lets the car breath! ah...
