Car went in last weekend for replacement Piston, due to piston spap, even though car just outside warrently...thank the lord!

All seemed well, car a lot smoother etc.

5 days later and ~200 miles, oil warning light coming on when start / stopping in the usual M25 traffic. Light would flash on for a second when stopping, then go off.

Got home and checked oil level.. and couldn't find any oil. Strange i thought. Tripple checked just in case i was going mad, and still nothing..not a drop.

It was absolutely empty and took ~4 litres of oil.

Car back at dealer now, but am really concerned with engine wear, especially as it is outside warrently, and I have a host of mods to do and many track days starting soon

comments appreciated!

4 litres? A full change is only 4.5 litres isn't it?

Now you either lost 4.5 ltrs of oil or you didn't have it in the first place, and I wouldn't have thought your engine would have lasted 200mls with no oil...

With hindsight it may have been wise removing the sump and checking for debris before returning it to your dealer, just incase there not very honest...

Thumbs down

I thought I was bad running mine on just 4litres until I get to the shop to buy some more tonight..!!

I cannot see if they changed the split the engine that they can start it without putting oil in.. it would have seized by now..
are you sure there is not a leak? or it is burning it..

If it only had 0.5litres in it then the oil light would have been on all the time imho..

Make sure you haven't over filled it now.. try it when cold...

Hope there is no damage..
