Crunch Goes the Syncro

Ok Guys....I have started stirring for cogs in porridge (i.e. My gearbox is RIP) and scoobysport are kindly going to do an inspect and (most likely) rebuild.
(...can my credit card take any more abuse?)
If you were in my situation (i.e. Second Gearbox re-build in 10,000 miles) which bits would you uprate?
I am NOT going to buy a set of dog-cogs cos they are stupidly expensive and squeal like pigs on a honeymoon.
Is there anything a little more intermediate?
And yes, I know I need to drive her more gently....-sigh-
All that is happening at the moment is resistance to changing gear, and 2nd gear will not select. Period. (have I bent the shifting forks? Probably )
Advice please! Thanks!

Welcome to my world. You might as well get a second hand gearbox as they should cost around 500>. I don't know if Rally Colin has any in stock but he also lives in Reading.
Alternatively, you can go to the scoobyshop and buy that 450BHp uprated gearkit for 1.6k.
He also removes the gearbox for a hindred something for you if you want. And believe me, its not fun.

Helpful people as always..thank you.
Rally Colin is in Reading
Mind you, given the fact that I now see more Subaru badges per day than ford badges in Reading, I am surprised it is such an un-catered for market.
I'll grab R19KET...see what he has to offer.
I am kind of against getting a second hand gearbox cos at least if mine has been re-built then I know what is new and what is not.
If it is equivalent price, I would rather uprate this one!

Well, it's booked into scoobysport on the 5th Nov for 'warranty work' on the clutch (it only lasted about 8,000 miles. And NO I haven't been doing any Grand Prix Starts. Well...two, actually.)
So when the gearbox stopped working I thought they might as well do the gearbox while the transmission is open.
I have to drive the car to essex from reading with no 2nd gear.
But the idea of uprated gearbox internals really appeals: As does a quickshift (legacy stick moves about 2 inches between cogs!)
I'll get in touch with Mark, anyways. And Rally Colin. Post back what they think! lol.

Um...I think I might have been a bit conservative on the 2 inches...I just looked at a ruler and it is nearer 6 inches! lol
(I should really stick to mm....it was what I was grown up on)
As I understand it, making a DIY quickshift is rather easy. Perhaps I should ask enlist Dr.DIY FMIC's help?
