Question

Does anyone know how to fit a Forge Motorsport dump valve (atmo) onto my Scooby Sti? ('97P reg).

I've had one delivered today which I'm told is easy to fit - but it came with no instructions!!

Any advice is greatly received!

Cheers

Scott

Cheers for that mate, but my intercooler is set parallel to the body but the one in the pic (older model) is set at 10° to the body, so my engine looks different set up... (TSL asked me this question when I ordered the part).

I wanted to get it done tonight really; any ideas where I can find out?

i thought that might be the case... do you have a digital camara so you can take some pics....

The principle is the same.... locate the old dump valve remove it, fit new dump valve to pipe coming from intercooler and then fit bung in the other free pipe... then take the vac line where the old one went...

its on the right hand side of the newer shape engine...

On the right hand side front of the intercooler as you look at it from the front of the car there is a fat rubber pipe.

Follow this, the dumpvalve is a black plastic thing connected to it.

scot22,

The three pipes will be: one coming from intercooler, one going from the old recirculating dump valve back to the inlet..... and the final one should be a narrow pipe that is the 'vacumm' for the dump valve...

Your new dump valve is Vent to atmosphere, so you connect the dump valve to the 'large' pipe coming from the intercooler, then stick a bung in the other pipe that should go back to the inlet...... finally take the narrow vacumm pipe and attach this to the top of the dump valve and take it back to where the old narrow pipe came from...

Does you dump valve look like this:

http://www.forgemotorsport.net/produ...uct=FMDVV4010A

Can you see the little nipple on top of the dump valve, you need to connect some vac pipe (did this come with the valve) to this nipple then to a pipe coming off the inlet manifold...

Talking

Just looked at the ForgeMotorsport link you sent me and yes, it's exactly the same as the large DV pic on there.

I took it out for a spin and to be honest I'm not too impressed with the sound of it. It just seems to make a 'chirp' sound, but you have to rev it pretty high to even get that sound (about 4-5000 revs).

Just to check I've fitted it right: the fat pipe (coming from r/hand side of intercooler) is now fitted to the dump valve. The fat pipe coming from underneath the intercooler is now bunged. The thin black pipe (vacuum pipe) is now fitted to the other end of the DV.

Hmmm... I'm sure this is right but was expecting a better sound from it...

you need to get a new spring from forge.
They'll send you a weaker spring that give you the noise you want
