Unichip boost control module
#1
Anyone know if this is a mechanical (or ebc) or a chip device on top of the normal unichip ? Was wondering if it was effective or if an ebc with the unichip module was a better option . Anyone had any experience with this . My local tuner has achived 159kw at the wheels on an Sti7 and is expecting more with further runs . Guess who's next ?????

Just had a Unichip mapped to mine. I decided to use the Unichip Boost Module which is indeed an EBC. Although only running slightly more boost I have complete continuity now over what boost I get in each gear and across the rev range.
Results so far are very pleasing. Power isn't too much higher than before , power at wheels is up about 10% and torque a little more.
However the main difference is that the peak power has come down the rev range by over 1000rpm, so is massively different on the road.
Their are more gains to be had with the mapping of the Water Injection system I have , so I will be going back next month to hopefully gain some more real world benefits.
As always, whether it be a piggyback or full ECU change, the results of the product are only ever as good as the engineer who maps it.
