following on from clutch problem;
its going in for the organic job next week
BUT
now it started to sound like a bag of nuts when idle
is this cuz clutch is shot to pieces or ...........
help pleeze

 

sounds more like piston slap or big ends to be honest.

however, how did the clutch go, did it just start to slip?

just sort of slipped one cold morning last week thought it was a bit coincidental cuz same happened to me mate the day before but then sounds a little 'different' now it ahs been said that it might be big end at worst but may only be clutch damage noise travelling down cam? if not whats the jobby? ...new engine i suppose

 

fingers crossed it is clutch related, but they dont tend to make a noise unless its extremely buggered, as in, went with a bang.

if it is the big ends, then you can get away with a new crank and new bearing set, but would also be wise to get a new oil pump with modded relief valve at the same time.

it could be the thrust bearing,does it get better when you press the clutch in???

could also be a snapped spring in the clutch ! ! !
