(Sorry mods if this is in the wrong area)

My clutch has started slipping today
Can anyone give me some advice as to where to get it repaired and wheather I should replace it with an uprated one?
If so what sort should I go for, and approx costs?

I had my clutch fitted at the above top job top price.
Drove from West yorks to West Aukland, on an ever decreasing clutch.
Think under £300 for a clutch fitted is one of the best prices around.

Cool

Give Mark a ring. He is a top bloke and if everything is arranged in advance it is done in half a day. His no.01388834204. Also a good source for spares especially imports as the name suggests.
No connections other than I have used him many times in last c
ouple of years.
Based at West Auckland which is just South of Durham up the A68 from the A1M J58.

If it's any help, I drove my Scoob for about 3 months with a slipping clutch - thought it was something more sinister!!!

If you take it easy (not too much Larry Lead Foot ) you should easily make there...

Just my 2p....

Best of luck,

Dan

PS I ended up doing mine myself - include a new flywheel, coz when the clutch starts to slip, usually the flywheel cracks too. If you don't replace it, the cracked flywheel will destroy the new clutch - back to square one

Took me 8 hours with a mate to help!!!! That gearbox is SO heavy!!!

If your having a clutch done def get flywheel done also first one I didnt and it lasted 6 months now have organic clutch and new flywheel £700 but great.

Thumbs up

Talk to Mark R19ket - He's a boody nice bloke (too honest for his own good - he talked me out of buying one of his clutches - although they seem to be the best quality & value for money on the market ).

If your flywheel is not completely fecked i.e. just surface cracks (which is very common & can be skimmed out) get it lightened while your at it (circa 3Kg - from 10.5Kg down to 7.5Kg http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=138770

Cheers,

Chris

[Edited to add]

Those figures were for a pre my97 with 225mm not 230mm clutch
