I’m getting a rattle from the engine, you could describe the noise as “tappety”. It’s a similar noise to the one that I used to get from the various motorcycles that I’ve owned and was described as clutch rattle. It wasn’t a fault as such just annoying. It’s more noticeable when the engine’s cold and when crawling in small moving traffic (i.e. traffic-jams). When the clutch pedal is depressed the noise diminishes. The motor is five years old but has only done 45K miles. It’s only hammered occasionally and with two nippers aboard traffic-light grand prixes are out of the question. The clutch action itself seems fine but would it be worth getting it checked out?

Cheers.
