Cool

hi john
i am interested in a ecu remap
my car is a 1998 wrx ra with full decat exhaust
and hks induction.
recent dyno 276 bhp at 6090 rpm and 285 ft/lb of torque
before decat/hks racing induction kit and exaust
do you think a remap will benefit my car
boost is at 1.4 bar.
what sort of power gains will i get.
regards chris.

I can only map 1999 and later cars - the 1998 and before cannot be reflashed. Some clever gents are working on a system in this forum to reprogram the original ECUs in earlier cars, but I gather 97/98 might be a little different.

You would be well advised to contact www.brdevelopments.com and discuss your requirements with them. A Link ECU may do the job nicely.

Are you using a boost controller to run 1.4 bar? It may be that at the boost you are running already a remap would not give you a lot of extra performance, but could certainly make it safer. All depends on how exactly the car is running now. At 1.4 bar I would be worried that it was detting since most Jap cars run about 1.1 bar from the factory and 0.3 bar is a big difference?
