Question

...and no it wasn't cos it was slipping so much before!

Could be me going crazy, but my car feels noticeably faster since I had an after market clutch fitted (not a racing clutch).
Even passengers reckon it seems quicker (throwing them back into seat)

Could this be because less power is lost through the transmission?

...or am I talking rubbish?

Anyway, it feels great and I'm now considering a new air filter.

Mine felt faster after new clutch and gearbox too......

But then I'd been driving my ex's Renault Clio 1.4rn for over a week so maybe that had something to do with it!!!!!!!!

It's prob coz your clutch was slipping slightly before, getting mine changed Monday, I reckon your right though coz my gtir felt better with decent clutch you deffinately get a stronger feeling acceleration, must only be slipping before the change I spose?
Someone tried to talk me into a standard clutch again, no chance I much prefer a strong feeling clutch!

What are the symptoms of a slipping clutch? what does it feel like? Is there a test I can do while I am driving to see if my clutch is shagged?

You nail the throttle in 5th gear at lowish revs and the revs rise but the speed doesn't.....that means your clutch is pretty well knackered.
