First off welcome to scoobynet. My answers:
1. Yes. Old Ford 2.9 could at extremes vary by ±15%, allegedly. The variation will be much less than that with modern engines, but there will be a slight difference.
2. Unlikely.
3. Depends on who measures it and where. I believe superchips claim somewhere around 250bhp for a standard car with their chip.
4. More power (typically +20bhp ish), turbo comes in earlier at lower revs, freer and more powerful at high revs. More and throatier exhaust noise.
5. Depends entirely on what you want. There will certainly be things you can make big improvements to by spending money on it.
6. IIRC, the superchip works by primitive boost increase and disables the ECU fuel cut - therefore the car can't protect itself if the boost goes too high, which can lead to a blown engine. Most other chips don't do this, and also adjust fuelling and/or ignition timing as necessary to give a better spread of "safe" power, hence everyone prefers not to use superchip. Use the search and you'll find more.
All IMHO, of course. A lot of this has been discussed here before, but probably not all 6 together.

I OWN A MY97 WAGON, IT HAS ONLY A SUPERCHIP TO HELP IT ALONG.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE BHP IS BUT IT FEELS QUICK, WHEN I GOT IT CHIPPED THE CHAP TOLD ME HE TEST DROVE THE WAGON BEFORE INSTALLING THE DEVICE, AND HE WAS SHOCKED AT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. HE SAID HE HAD CHIPPED 5 OR 6 OF THSES CARS BUT HE THOUGHT FOR SOME REASON MY CAR WAS QUICKER....TO THE POINT
1. ARE SOME CARS FASTER THAN OTHERS WITHOUT MODS
2. WILL MY CAR PASS AN MOT WITHOUT CATS
3. WHAT SHOULD THE BHP OF MY WAGON BE WITH THE CHIP
4.WHATS THE GAINS IN DECATING
5. IS IT WORTH PUMPING ANY MORE MONEY IN TO A MY97
6. I'V HAD NO PROBS(WHY IS EVRYONE ANTI SUPERCHIP)
if it helps cars rund 16psi boost
P.S I'v looked at many many forums before, this is by miles the best ever, im very glad a bought my scoob, and cant see me ever changing brands again.
