What aftermarket ECU? And I/C Questions
#1
Hi Guys,
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good aftermarket ECU for a UK MY96 Turbo? - looking for around 280bhp. Would my original ECU be re-mappable by someone like EcuTek for instance?
Also considering upgrading my top mounted intercooler (the smaller, offset version) with a beefy square-mounted I/C from an STi V. I assume that I would have to get hold of a suitable mounting bracket to fit this later component to the MY96 lump? Anyone know if there is a name for the said bracket, and where do I get one from!?
Also can anyone forsee any other problems I may encounter getting the STI V I/C to work properly with my car? Is it a straight swap out?
Cheers
Duncan

Hi,
If you want a map for the early cars speak to Pavlo and David Wallis, they can provide all the info you need .
With regards to the STiV intercooler this has been done before, it's definately not a straight swap and needs abit of effort/time to achieve. Personally i wouldn't bother, i'd save up for a nice front mount and in the mean time put a water spray system on the current top mount....
Hope that helps a bit,
