I know these are to replace the cat in the new Impreza's. I've got an MY00 and AFAIK the cats are in the down and centre pipes.
scoobysport.co.uk says they can be fitted to MY00. WHat sort of benefit would I expect from fitting this??
And what exactly is the up-pipe anyway??

It's a short pipe that connects the cast exhaust manifold to the Turbo. On a all pre MY01 cars it could be argued that there is no performance benefit or perhaps a very small one, what it should give you though is reliability, the OEM uppipe has been known to fail over time.
