Does anyone know if exhaust manifolds( equal length, un-equal length, HKS, Power Engineering, whatever)for the old shape Impreza (GC8)can be fitted to the new shape Impreza?

or are they totally incompatible?

Id guess that they will fit, but cannot say for sure. I have seen a set of HKS manifolds fitted ot a new STI, but not sure whether they were specifically for the new model. They did look the same as the older ones though.

Cheers Stevie

I'm wondering cause I don't see manifolds listed for both styles of Impreza on any sites, but I think I remember seeing or reading something about up-pipes being different between the two shapes.

Can anyone confirm about the up-pipes? or manifolds. Pete Croney for example?

well up pipes are the same, so Id guess they would fit assuming there is a boss for the sender in the up-pipe part.

The up pipes do physically fit AFAIK, its just that the newer ones have a lambda sensor installed in it. The oe pipe also has a cat. Otherwise they appear to be the same.
Id be pretty sure about the manifolds being the same 99%...

YES they are exactly the same except the hole for the EGT sensor in the new model manifold.
By the way in few days I'll sell my almost new (6 months old) PE exhaust manifold in case you are interested!

Hi

at the moment the German-Impreza-GT-Club is having a group buy of these headers(http:www.wrxtuner.com) for GT-WRX(MY01)-STI VII.
Price: ~900€

The difference between the header of the old and the new shape is the hole for the O2 sensor which the MY01 and the STI VII have.
The sensor of the pre-MY01 cars is placed in the Downpipe so you have to close the hole with a bolt or sth.

The Upipe of the STI VII and the pre-MY01 is the same, for the MY01 you can also use a resistor to simulate the EGT-Sensor Signal or you have to weld a bung for the original EGT Sensor.

Concerning the fitting : they fit the old and the new model, but for some headers you have to bend the frame a little bit

Regards
Frank :-)

Morning all.

Jim
I've got a manifold on order which is due in approximately 3 weeks but thanks for the offer. Curious...why are you selling? Offline if preffered.
