I think I cleaned my MAF sensor with a rag when I cleaned my air filter! Is it the mesh thing on the engine side of the air filter box? If so I rubbed the soot off it with a cloth! DOHHH. What are the symptoms of damaging it?

The sensor is the other side of the mesh thing (plugged into the rubber pipe with wires coming out of it). You should be fine I'd have thought

Thank god for that, I did hope it was something like that, and to be honest the car seems to be running OK (that's bound to mean it blows up at tonight's meet now!) and they don't sound cheap to fix!
