when I do hard acceleration, especially 1st and 2nd gear at around 4k I get a lost of power (like the petrol would cut off or more likely as rev limiter)
sometimes it's less obvious but sometimes I'm sure it's even visible from outside the car
I've checked all those small air hoses for blockage but all clear.
Any ideas????
pls help as it's getting on my nerves
decated full exhaust, K&N 57i induction kit
had it on rolling road and all was in perfect line...
thanks for any advice

Sounds like it could be overboosting to me. Does it feel like you are hitting a wall when the power drops. If so then your ECU is cutting the boost because you are overboosting. Can somtimes be caused by the mods you have.

sparying down some pipes... is that a sexual thingy ?
on the real terms, i did blow those pipes Matt and no change - thanks Matt
yes it is like hitting a wall, in the 1st gear though. So if you think its overboosting how to solve that? Mind you, as I've said, I've been on the rolling road and the boost was OK - 1.2
so what now
btw Mikey - better Czech foot which knows when to step on it then "gridlocked"

IIRC, you don't have a boost gauge do you Rob? You may need one to solve this. Perhaps you should take it up to Lavender Hill and take it out with the Select Monitor on it?

Visibly, check the turbo inlet hose and particularly the end that connects to the turbo (around the clip), it could be blown. I had the same problem, and discovered that it was a blown inlet hose. Just a thought.

no Matt not the gauge, it's on the list but got the new engine 1st
thanks piravlos, I'll check it in the morning as it is getting "visibly" worse.
Today I've got even a backfire during the lag period in 2nd gear

Have you got it sorted yet? I remember Krade had a problem like this and it was overboosting. He went to dads and he sorted it with a valve so he still has the same power, just no over boosting. If you didnt get it sorted, go to AnG Services in Park Royal as they have a select monitor there and will sort it out for you. Plus they dont charge silly dealer prices!!

Rob,
I would get it up to Dave's ASAP as you might do more harm than good driving around whilst it's in this state....
Kate, a Boost gauge is essential!!!!!!

Yeah but if he doesnt get the gauge, you dont get the shoes!
Its only 1 gauge - how much is he buying it for? Say £100 therefore you buy some shoes for £100! lol
