right havin just slaughtered another gearbox im now the proud owner of a set of p1 internals! before i go on th rampage with these are there any processes to harden these any more?

It may last longer with a softer right foot, combined with a softer left ( clutch ) foot.

All subaru boxes are weak, I think its just a plain fact you have to live with. The only way it seems to get some strength, is to buy uprated gears.

get the gears shot peened,but mask the bores... shouldn't be expensive at all...

STI offer a motorsport gearkit which is stronger but you will probably still break 2nd gear. the other option is to move to 4.4 diffs with the new S2 prodrive kit which I beleaive to be more reliable We are about to move to this option on my group N car. The final option is a V5 casing and a RTD dog kit at £4200 + VAT and you won't break it.
