All the Jap stuff is very expensive, but usually very good. Blitz are stainless, and very good quality. HKS Stainless backbox only mostly, with Aluminised steel systems, and very overpriced.
Mongoose, wouldnt be my first choice, by any means.
Scoobysport, I have only seen their downpipe, which is excellent, so can only assume the system and back box is likewise.
Scorpion would fall into the same category as Mongoose.
Magnex are very good quality and well priced. I would go for a any combination of Magnex or Scoobysport bits, or a complete Magnex system, which is probably the cheapest option and about the best value for money too considering ho well its made.

I would deffinitly say bltiz but they are loud, they give a unique sound that IMO is the best of all the exhausts, so if you have the money get the blitz nur spec...

The scoobysport is good too not as loud would be better for crusing at motorway speed e.t.c....

I have a jap innovations system that is similar to the scoobysport one and at the end of this month im getting a blitz nur spec back box... because i like the sound so much.... plus i dont do huge amounts of motorway driving.... (you do actually get an insert with the blitz that can be put on this makes it less intrusive on long journeys e.t.c

hmmm I will have to bear that in mind then, because 70% of my journeys are on motorways!! I do approx 40,000 miles a year :-)

Thanx for the advise so far!!

I've now got a Scoobysport Dp and backbox with a Magnex resonator centre section. The car is loud but as others have said it doesn't boom on the long motorway hauls, so you avoid the headaches.
These parts are the only one's I've had and I can't fault them.

I just dont think the quality is up to that of some others, and I absolutely hate exhausts with slide fit joints. They can be a bollox to remove. Why dont they make them as per the OE exhaust, with bolt up joints? They may be small points, and performance wise, there is probably no difference.
If I was paying close to £500 for a complete system, Id like something a little better for my money. I do now have a mongoose on my car, but only because it was free as it cam on a car a friend bough, and he didnt like it either, so it became mine, to replace my DIY exhaust.
If I was buying, Id buy Magnex, Ive seen systems, for cosssie's, RS turbos, subarus, saxos etc etc.. Every one of them was excellent quality, and very good value. IMHO, The other UK suppliers of exhaust just dont compare.

Different cars, will have different power. One example means nothing. Jap exhausts are way overpriced. Why should a particular car have over 300bhp, std wrx's etc are supposed to have 280 bhp, but in the real world, very few have. Horsepower variations between performance exhausts will be minimal. Thay are all pretty much the same anyway, some just louder and more expensive than others. I know of a certain legacy that has a 2.5" magnex, and it seems to go ok.

I've got a 2000 classic WRX and I've fitted a ScoobySport downpipe and backbox plus ITG filter. A plug in 'Road Dyno' unit estimated it at 301bhp with 256lbft of torque at 4800rpm, goes like a monster now. Only running 0.8-0.9 bar too.

It has to be SCOOBYSPORT, the noise is unrivalled. My mate has a 365bhp EVO IV and he pulls his plonker when he hear's my Scoob roar off. Nothing comes near.

My last car, a non-turbo 2.5RS Impreza, had an Apexi backbox with 2.5" tubing to the cats - VERY loud. I've replaced my RS with a WRX and my Apexi with a Blitz Nur Spec. It cost me the same as a similar Scoobysport setup (they're harder to get here in the states), and I LOVE the sound. I have no regrets with my Blitz - especially at $525 shipped. Buy it!

blitz looks better( have you seen the tig weild )and sounds better than scoobysport (is really haywood and scott) scoobysport just sell them a full scooby sport system will cost around £700!!! try to buy direct (you got 2 hopes) nur spec r cat back will cost around £500 + hks down pipe about £150 there are better down pipes but this was just for showing cost of jap pipes, like that it don't sound that over priced.
for the people who don't want to pay that much :-
mongoose full system £439.99
magnex total £659.00
here you go who fances a JANSPEED £300

any one heard YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !!

Magnex total £659??? How do you figure that?? Try closer to £500. Approx £310 for centre/rear, and approx £200 for downpipe. If you can scrounge discount, it will be less than £500. Its the best value around, and the best quality UK brand name system
