P1 problem.... please explain...

Can someone explain to me what it means when the bigend has gone.... apologies but by no means am i a mechanic.....

Think this could be the problem on my P1..... Getting a serious tapping noise and the garage have to remove the engine to find out where the problem is......?

Sorry m8, but it means engine rebuild time. Big end = the bearing on the crankshaft end of the con rod that the piston sits on the end of.

Thanks for info... still doesn't mean a lot but not good I guess..... Is it right this has happened on a few occasions... Garage said it was extremely rare...?
