as title. i want to use the exhaust wrap to cover my manifold/up-pipe and also my 3" downpipe.
however, have looked whats for sale etc, but have no idea about what sort of quantity is required. i dont want to just buy some, then get more if required, as the shop is about 40miles away

anyone done it and know?

cheers

I wrapped my Scoobysport D'pipe with 50' of 1" wide tape then sprayed it with the dedicated high temp. paint, so I guess you will need a bit more than this. You may just get away with the whole job by using 2" wide tape instead? You will get the most awful smelling (and very embarrasing) smoke as the tape "burns in" especially if you use the spray (recommended) Don't drive in traffic straight away as someone will probably call the fire brigade!

Where's the cheapest place to get the tape and paint from? And how long does it smoke for afterwards?

Thanks

I got mine from demon tweeks where I always get a decent discount.

Used 1 50m roll on my headers, not a nice job but worth doing.

use gloves and soak the wrap before you apply it. Demon also supply a kind of ratchet band which will keep the stuff in place.

Thumbs up

hi ian, i managed to do my manifolds, up pipe and half of my downpipe with 1 box of the stuff (about the same amount as above), spayed it aswell, the smoke lasted about 3 or 4 drives, very embarrassing )

thinking about putting it the entire length of my system to keep it quiet probably rip it all off on the first speed bump i encounter

Lightbulb

also it depends on how much overlap you use to the amount of distance you cover, you'll use up alot going around the bends on the manifold
