I assume that an LSD slipping wheel will eventually stop then, whereas an open diff wheel will still slip as power cannot be completely diverted???

"All other impreza's have an open front diff, I think that also incudes the 22b. AFIK Prodrive only changed the diff ratios on the UK 22b's
"
I don't believe this is correct. I understand that many Type R and Type RA cars were supplied with a front LSD unit.

I deliberately put "UK supplied" in my original post for this very reason, but it suffered from Chinese (Japanese?) whispers on its way down the thread....

I think front LSD's on all Impreza's before the UK STi 7 (with the possible exception), had an Open diff but with an option for a front LSD?
For example, Scott's STi 5 RA V-Ltd had a front LSD but it was an option (as ticked on the options list). Or was it just the on STi's that this was an option? (and presumably still is on the JSM STi 7?)
