Question

Same engine as an Impreza but you get an extra 15k out of one of them. Anyone know why?

Very sure.....all the old style had 45K cam-belt except the MY00 which has a 60K interval....

Check with your local Subaru dealer if you want to ...

Cheers

I can confirm also - don't know why though as I thought the 99MY and 00MY engines were the same. Stronger cambelt ?

Yeah Mikey I thought the same too when I found that one out!

Just means that the 60,000 miles service on the MY00 is going to be a big one!

I be there'll be loads of MY00's for sale with 59,500m on the clock !! £7-800?

At least on the 99MY you can spread the biggies over 45k and 60k !

Change the belt early, just in case. Havent seen too many fail though, and have even seen engines with 100,000 miles, still on the original belt!, but better to be safe than sorry.
Sometimes you get away with it, others you dont.
