Dayco is just another aftermarket supplier like Moprod, Powertrain, the list goes on.. Not sure what they are like for quality.
Id go for a Gates 5384XS, They are an OE supplier.

if you could mate, that would be good.
what annoys me though is that they said i would get a genuine subaru belt, and i assumed it would be the subaru one in the subaru box, just like the rings they supplied

i only ordered it from them because i wanted a proper one and not some aftermarket thing.

thanks

just out of interest - how much was it ?

coz I had mine changed at the last service and the belt on it's own was 138 quid ! and i VERY MUCH doubt Subaru make the belt themselves!
other places around sell belts - which I'm sure are as high - if the not the same quality for about 50 quid!

not ammused !

Steve

it was 54 + vat mate.

subaru do have their own belts, £90 + vat at the local subaru dealer.

cheers
ian

p.s. £138 does seem a bit steep for the belt alone

Cool

Dayco do make belts for OEM use by other car manufacturers.

The Dayco belt should cost ~40 quid.

I am using on on my car at the moment.

Moray,
is your car modified, if so, what sort of power does it run?

also, is the dayco belt the one that midland impreza sell for £39 + vat?

thanks

Hi Ian,

Yes, my car is slightly different to the way it left the factory. Yes, I bought the dayco from midland impreza.
