Power steering pump
#1
Who has got or had a noisy power steering pump, when you turn the wheel slightly left or right, I seem to get a increase in noise. Is it likely to go **** up ? I have two months left on the warranty and wonder if it needs sorting out now ? Any issues with getting it done on warranty ?

Phil,
I had a noisy power steering pump, was told that its up to 6 months before it could actually die, difficult to diagnose really, If it's whiney etc I'd get it changed under warranty, only because the noise used to really pi55 me off!
In the end I bought a 2nd hand one from Grade A and changed it myself, didnt take too long, but I had not warranty.

Just been through loads of hassle with my my93 wrx and the pas pump and rack.
Check the fluid to see if leaking, check the block to see if any fluid has gone onto it, if its leaking then may be o-rings or the sensor wire.
Also check the rack cause if the pumps not working properly it will blow the seals on the rack.
