Question

(uk 99 ppp)

I have a question for those with the 'Jap' zorsters....

At present I have a Scoobysport system minus the centre (has STI), when I am 'having fun' down my local lanes I can bottom out the centre section on one particular piece of track...I mean road.

My q is this, does the HKS or the Nur Spec hang lower than the 'standard' centre?

I forgot to say that I have the Prodrive suspension on too.

Obviously I dont want to fit a zorst and find it hiding in the bushes after the first 'proper' run up the lanes!!!

Thanks in advance, I know some of these q get a bit boring!

the std section may be more liable to scrape I reckon - used to have a Hiper on and it didn't scrape - not much anyway - now it's std it scrapes everywhere, speed humps, multistories etcetc

Thanks for that, I did wonder...if the res bit was 'lower' than a straight piece of pipe then it would I spose.

Also I presume that it depends on the 'installation' we all know that each car and each pipe can be 'slightly' different.

Just have to give it a go

ps, are we ever going to see another CraigH STi? Not one with jacked up suspension and rubbing slicks

The Drager spends some time as a tarmac removal system if the car is full.
That's with the standard roll-o-matic suspension.

nom, does it **** the system or just have a wee scrape along?

What Im concerned with is it 'catching' and Im talking about 'flat as a strap' up a bumpy lane (100mph plus).....should I say that on here?

dont think u should say that on here

thats the concern that has stopped me going for a big jap style exhaust - the scraping...

prodrive suspension - how much is that?
does it lower it much?

on a run up the glens at the weekend - scraped the mudflaps off of the black stuff few times..

MD wanna swap your S'pension for mine then, solve all your worries in one go..you'll think you're driving a Range Rover with mine on

I really don't think mine hangs down any lower, the back box does though, obviously, and quite a bit at that. You're more likely to be hitting the backbox than the centre, unless I read the question wrong??? Are you talking about changing your system or just the centre?

Oddly, I haven't noticed any scratches. I think it scrapes on the little 'JASMA' plate thingy - presumably the Hyper doesn't have one of these though .
The only lane it was really bumping on was 5-up + cr@p in boot and there are speed bumps on the road that are the smooth bits.

Oooops! I meant to type 100 KPH and got it wrong

Craig...look forward to it

Mega...No thanks, but thanks very much for thinking of me!

SCOSaltire...Prodrive drivers pack was on the car when I bought it, it uses STi dampers and Eibach springs and lowers the car by (we think), about 60mm

nom...if I do change the zorst it could be any of the big 'Jap' ones, and if I get an occasional scrape so be it.

Cheers lads.
