A wideband lambda is the best. narrow band lambda is only a guide. try either

for a DIY version, which is a bit tricky to build.
or

Im gonna buy one of these, coz it saves the hassle, and it is about the cheapest I have found. I already have a DIY version from Oz, but it is a bit temperamental, and I dont have a clue how to fix it.
As for tuning on the move. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!!!!! get a passenger to do any alterations

The FJO kit is still quite expensive though. The Palm software looks good, especially with the RPM display.
What's wrong with the DIY one? Is it the controller or the display?

I dont know. There is a lot of testing to do while building, and calibration ( of both display and WB ?? ) at the end. I did calibrate the display ( i think ) but have no idea how to calibrate the WB board. I do not have much knowledge by way of electronics, or some of the equipment to test accurately.
While I did get my kit working ( 1 of 2.. I blew the first up ) After linking it to another ecu, where it is controlling the fuelling, the voltage outputs I am seeing, do not tally up with those provided, so I am having doubts about my calibration. Im sure that a well built kit would be all that is required.
I am going to buy the FJO one, simply because Oz does not have built kits ready for sale at present, and there is no point in me buying another one to wreck. The FJO works out at just under £500 ( complete with sensor ) and I dont see this as unreasonable. The last sensor I bought cost around £150, and I do not need to purchase another with the FJO kit as far as I am aware, as it is the same one used by the DIY version.
I do do work on a few cars, and for maximum power, I need to know what the fuelling is accurately. I also want it installed on my other car, full time, to control the fuelling on the ecu ( DTAFast P8Pro ), so accuracy is very important, as is reliability. While I will try to build/make alomost anything, electronics are still over my head. Gimme an angle grinder anyday. If you have the skills to build the DIY version, then go for it, it is still superb value.
