What about one of these?

The Turbosmart Supersonic. WAY WAY louder than a Blitz (my mate has a Blitz and I have this one)

That Trumpet is 2.5" in diameter!! It's more like a backbox than a DV.

You can go to www.turbosmart.com.au to actually hear one in action.

I've never heard a louder DV and I've heard pretty much all of them. It's also cheaper than a Blitz and you can buy on line.

Cheers

Question

Rich, but what is the quality of the unit like. Does it work just as well as the Blitz and HKS? I am running a STI2 if it is of any help to you. Is this Dump Valve obscenely loud? I could take a little more volume than then blitz, but I am already running one of the loudest zorsts on any Scooby that I know......
Mole and Tweenie, Have you actually owned or been in a cer with a Blitz unit before? If so, which one is louder?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi,

Yes, The quality is excellent. Mine is a MY96 which I think is very similar to your STi2.

I have heard a car with a Blitz drive past me whilst standing on the kerb, shortly followed by my brother's car (which also has a Turbosmart valve) and the Turbosmart is much louder. My mate with the Blitz valve also admits it is a fair bit louder than his.

I actually made a guy on the kerb physically jump in the air with it once

Sounds like a huge whip crack.

It takes a while to bed in though so at first it's not quite so loud, but after a few hundred miles it is.

It's also fully adjustable simply by turning the blue bit round, so you can harden up the spring to make it quieter if you wish.

It is designed especially for cars running over a bar of boost too.

Check out the download on the website.

Cheers

Rich

Question

Hi folks.

Unfortunatly, through my 'tighter is better' routine, I managed to thread one side of my Blitz BOV, so that it was not biting at all. I had partially done this too a while back, but glued it to the bracket to help make it stay tight. I had to remove it last weekend and what was left of the thread went completely! Being a cowboy, I covered the bolt in glue and all aroung the gasket too . I don't think that is right any more, as I already have boost issues that I am trying to get to the bottom of and this is just one other concern now.

Sooooooo, my question is what BOV should I go to now? I am torn between a HKS and another Blitz, but there could be another conteneder that I don't know about. As long as it does it's job and is just as loud as the Blitz, then I will be happy

Any info/advice gratefully recieved

Also, before you ask, I don't want to cur a new thread or any of that malarkey, just a new BOV

Cheers,

Nick
