Posting on behalf of a mate with no internet access

The engine has been rebuilt to a very hi spec but now his turbo is smoking slightly. What turbo should he go with next? It's a 95 wrx with TD05 turbo hks full decat exhaust, blitz induction kit, forged pistons and rods, balanced this and balanced that.

Any Ideas, Does he stay with the td05 or someone has mentioned a vf30 for £1300, ouch..

Any suggestions would be appreciated
