As above, anyone had any problems removing their lambda from the headers, any advice??

they do seem to get a bit rusted in if you've got a mild steel (ie rusty) DP, got mine out by working the thread back and forth until it came off, plenty of releasing fluid helped

My sensor is in the manifold not the DP

The early cars have the sensor in the manifold, the one in the downpipe is not an oxygen sensor. I've looked at getting a new one and putting it in the spare hole in the downpipe (magnex decat) due to it being cooler and that would leave an ideal place for an EGT probe . Im not looking forward to getting the old one out tho, good luck to you .

Tone, I did exactly that

The loom just about reaches although it does pass close to the turbo.
Maybe I was lucky but the sensor came out without any problems - I've done this twice now, both times with the exhaust still hot.

I fitted a new sensor to my SS downpipe,leaving the old one where it was. Undid the wiring from the loom and re-routed it round the back and down the side of the Intercooler (took about 2 hours to unwrap and re-wrap the loom).

Ive had the port on my scoobysport DP welded up so i'm gonna have to change the one in the manifold...
Will post details afterwards..

Just wondering a few points about this. On a MY95:

- if the temp sensor in the downpipe was replaced with a new Lambda senser - are the holes the same size?

- Would an EGT sensor fit in the existing Lambda sensor hole in the headers? Assuming the thing would come out!

- I've read somewhere on another thread that the ECU doesn't need the temp sensor in the downpipe for normal running so losing it would not impact on the running of the car. Is this true?

Any info greatly appreciated.
