Hello everybody,

today we were at the Dyno here in Swizerland.

My car is a MY98 with the following mods:
VF23, FCD, Dawes, Tezet headers and uppipe, exhaust system, cold air duct (resonator removed)

It made 268PS and 344Nm at around 1.2peak dropping to 1bar at 6000rpm.

My friend with exactly the same mods and a MY99 (but 1.2bar boost held) got 279PS and 360Nm.

When looking at the printouts of our boost curves, you can see, that his car does a VERY nice and flat curve - 1.2bar held. Whereas my car peaks at 1.2bar, then suddenly drops to around 1bar, then rises again to 1.1, then drops again etc. Basically the boost is fluctuating around. (you can also notice this when checking boost with a boost gauge).

How can I solve this problem with the fluctuating boost? Is there something wrong on my car? Is there a leak somewhere and if yes, where could it be? What should I check?

how long have you had the dawes on?
try taking it off and taking it to bits(inside you will find a spring and a ballbearing)give them a good clean with brake cleaner and clean out the inside of the dawes too then put it back on.

Im having a similar thing with my dawes its all clean.... but boost doesnt seem to hit max until im really reving the car..! and i dont want to turn it upto 1.2 bar just so i can get 1 bar held.... any advice....

Any sorry for hijacking this blokes thread..!! thought it might help you to..!
