Hi folks,

Looks like I'll be off to work in Germany soon, which means I get the opportunity to cruise at 100-120mph on the Autobahns. However, I'd like to monitor a little better what's going on at these speeds. I'm not intending to sit at 140mph or anything, but 120mph is quite high (nearly 5000rpm).

So, the question is, what should I monitor? So far, I'm thinking inlet temperature, exhaust gas temperature (EGT), and oil temperature and/or pressure.

And I assume that the easiest thing to do is to pop down to ScoobySport to get the gauges fitted .

And anyway, my new job may allow me to drive a Porsche SuperCup GT3 around the track from time to time to check out the control boxes we'll be running on them

LOL @ Adam. Too true. Saw a picture of a front end which had been rearranged because the driver had been studying his AFR gauge too closely

Until we know what causes high speed failures your list sounds sensible. Do the bugeyes drop dead at high speed as well? I heard of one which did at 150 mph.

Ok, it's true, I'll be spending the time watching the road, but an occasional glance over to the dials is ok (while getting out of the way of the Porkers, Muckedes and Beemers doing their 155mph limit)...
