Hey guys, so my 2005 WRX is currently off the road as there is a very very bad grinding/crunching sound coming from the rear diff, but only in lower gears. It got to a point when I was limping her home where I almost lost drive and could barely keep it moving.

my mates think it is a broken rear diff and so does my dad, but just wanted some other opinions.

What sort of power are you running mate. You will need the R160 diff. If you take the diff cover have a look inside that should give you an idea on if the diff has done itself in. You might be able to buy a rebuild kit too.
