Looking to make a cheap intercooler spray and wonder if its possible to use a fuel pump with water.
Want it to last longer than a month also. If it is then maybe I could go this route to a cheap water injection system.
Be interested to here peoples views.

Best thing is a widow wash bottle and pump, then you just need the sprayers

I would have thought there's the risk of corrosion? A pump designed for petrol is less likely to have plastic parts than a washer pump designed for water....?

I'd go with a washer pump too, I think 300psi could be a tad excessive

I'm not sure the pump would like running in water either, fuel actually passes over the internal gubbins in the pump, I think water would sieze it up.

Window washer pumps are ok for water spray but not injection, they barely have enough presure to overcome a reasonable boost presure. You need at least 40 psi (across the nozzle) to get decent atomisation of the water.

I wonder if there is anything you could add to the water (such as antifreeze) to reduce it's corrosion effects and add some lubricity ?
Not sure if the engine would like burning it though ?
