With summer just around the corner This may be of interest to anyone running higher than standard boost pressures.

This is a pic of my last intercooler fitted with water spray to aid cooling via evaporation.

The spray nozzles are available in B&Q gardening section, they come in a pack for around £5. They also stock the connecting hose at approx £1 / mtr.

The nozzles themselves eject a very fine atomising mist which discharges in a 45 degree fan (don't buy the 180 deg type !) Carefull positioning results in total coverage of the cooler matrix within a few seconds.

On my cat this achieved a reduction in charge temp of approx 4 deg C at 19 psi boost. The standard RA water spray system would only drop it about 1 deg C.

As this is only likely to be required on warm dry days it is quite practical to use the window washer system to supply it. It only takes a few seconds to pop the hose off the window washers and on to the sprays. To avoid the wipers going each time I sprayed, I also unplugged the supply wire which is right beside the motor under the bonnet.

The change from 'drab day' to 'sunny thrash day' can be done in less time than it takes to check the oil.

Cheap and worthwhile IMHO

Do you have a lot of problems with your cat over heating?

Looks good, off to B&Q shortly, did you get the T pieces and corners from them, if not any hints. Think I will get an extra water supply and take the electrics off the light washers, redirect the hose to the new bottle if thats possible. Havn't looked yet. No cats available though, will my girlfriends rabbit do.

Cheers for the post and info

Why are you testing on animals!! Test it on humans first to see if its safe, then test it on your kitty cat....
