Question

Hi Fellow ScoobyNetters...

This question must have been answered thousands of times, but me being lazy I thought I would create my own topic.

In the next few months I'll be thinking of putting a stainless exhaust system on my MY97 UK Turbo which is currently standard apart from wheels, spoiler and clear indicators.

Here are some of my choices and rough prices:-

Blitz - Centre & back box 500GBP
Magnex - Centre & back box 325GBP
- Full system inc. downpipe 500GBP
Scorpion - Centre & back box 300GBP
ScoobySport - Centre & back box 410GBP
- Full system inc. downpipe 625GBP
Mongoose - Centre & back box 350GBP
- Full system inc. downpipe 480GBP
HKS Super - Centre & back box 640GBP
- Full system inc. downpipe 800GBP
HKS Hyper - Centre & back box 500GBP
- Full system inn. downpipe 660GBP

The reason I want to change the exhaust is:

a) I beleive that the original exhaust is still on the car and
it's nearly 5 year old and I don't want it to drop off when
I need the car most for work.
b) I would like to unleash the sound of the Boxer engine and
possibly increase the BHP of the car.

I'm well aware that the majority of the ScoobyNetters go for the ScoobySport exhaust system, but how do the other systems fair up. I also know that the Japanese like the Blitz and HKS systems.

I'll be selling the car this time next year so should I go for the Full system or only the centre center section and back box.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

RickyD

Hi!

I would be tempted to go for a Magnex 6x4" Oval full system and decat pipe, as it represents good value for money (especially if you are selling next year), it is ultra high quality, looks gorgeous and sounds the business! Also you wont have any trouble come MOT time as you wont be touching the Downpipe cat.

Then again Blitz is another matter all together if you like just about the loudest, freeest flowing system there is. I run one and it is great!

Let me know if you would like a chat as I have info on all systems.

What about the Jap Innovations system like I've got?

Works out about £550 for full system including downpipe if I remember right. Which is very good value I think.

Great sounding system and in my opinion a better finish than some systems out there and helped me get 320bhp from a UK car.

Also had HKS Hiper which was too loud and sacrificed too much low down for the top end gains it gave IMHO.

Check out the website www.jap-innovations.co.uk

If you want to HEAR what it sounds like, watch the Reverend Bob's Torque Show on Men & Motors Channel on 30th June @7.30 cos I'm on it!!

Cheers
