Default JDM TY752VBCAA in my Bug Wagon ???

Hi folks.

Yesterday whilst fitting a V9 Hawkeye wide track STI subframe and rack to my 2001 Bugeye Wagon I spied a familiar looking number on the gearbox sticker...the TY752VBCAA from a V3 STI ...I'm well puzzled because it has had a rumble from the rear under hard acceleration since I bought it and I'm wondering has the previous owner changed the box without changing the rear diff to match maybe??? I have a TY754 box and matching diff in the shed which I have been meaning to fit in the event the rear diff did give up but until yesterday I had never even noticed that gearbox sticker and didn't know I was running a JDM box with a different ratio to a UK one. What I do know however is that without taking the diff cover off there is no other way of identifying what diff is fitted
