Default Synchro interchangeability

Need to do the 5th gear synchro on my car.

Current box is TY754VBAAA STI V6

I have another box.. TY752VBAAA

What's the chances the 5th gear synchro is the same, anyone know?

That way I could just whip the back of the box off, leaving it in the car and swap out the synchro.

I know it won't excrly take long to whip the back end off the box but be nice to know if anyone knows before I bother.

If not, don't suppose anyone knows of a place in the UK to get the synchro assembly for reasonable money? I've found a place in the states so far.

The 54 indicates thicker wall casing so i presume the internals will be the same.
Think api sell gearbox parts
