Default clutch for 500ftlb+

I'm just about to start a build , it will be a 2.5 specced at around 500bhp and similar ftlbs, i'm looking for a clutch to match, it will be a day to day road car so we need a decent feel for town driving. Any input welcome.

I have a 2.5 @ 502/520 as a road car and use an Excedy Hyper twin. The bite is sharper than a normal OEM clutch but not as savage as some puck style clutches.

Competition Clutch Stage 2. I came from Hyper Twin and the CC is much nicer to drive IMHO.

Yep, tried and tested by me and rejected for road use.

Hill starts in particular are a nightmare, everyone will think you can't drive as you have to give it loads of revs.

Never had a problem, flat starts, hill starts, or 5.5k rpm race starts
Have you considered maybe you can't drive?

Clutch engagement is something that you become accustomed to over time.

I was fed up with the super sharp engagement and instant bite point with very little to zero possibility to slip it. Yes, i could have kept it on the car and become more used to it over time but i decided not to.

Please don't anyone suggest that exedy hyper twin is anything like a standard clutch in terms of engagement, it is not and people buying one based on that advise will get a shock.

I got used to it instantly. Its also an everyday car so ease of use was one of the top priorities.

You are the only person I have heard of having issues with 1.

i didn't have "problems" i just didn't like it and with the CC Stage 2 available (and ACT) there is a single plate option for those who prefer ease of use over a rattling on / off switch.

I agree some people may be perfectly happy with the Exedy though.
