6 speed in type r
Hi, I own a v5 type R and I'm beginning to get a few niggles with the 5 speed. Im considering putting a 6 speed in but if I honest I don't really know what's involved. I'd like to keep the dccd and looking to find out what my best option will be, what 6 speed would be best suited and what parts could remain and what parts will need to be replaced.
Thanks in advance Mark

Easy conversion, need either a uk or jap box, jap boxes are very short ratios though, matching diff, prop, linkage and stub axles and possibly the 6 speed starter. can use the 5 speed flywheel and clutch but i just went for the 6 speed flywheel and clutch as its bigger i replaced the 5 speed on my ra as it was too short a ratio for motorways best thing i done too the car.
The dccd just plugs in and works the same as the 5 speed.

Im going to do this swap next week, But for a v6 type r (its the same)
I have a 06 dccd uk gearbox, matching diff, propshaft, front stub axels, 5 speed new clutch and a new 5speed flywheel.
don't think u would need a 6speed starter, or am i wrong?
