Classic 93 wrx gearbox
I have a 93 wrx import the box is about to **** it self. To save me being off the road for to long I'm sourcing another gear box. Is there much difference in boxs. Ie uk model imports. Sti/ra/ ect what's best. I don't want to be spending thousands on uprated box or 6 speed conversations. As just bought lighted flywheel and 6 puk clutch. Will be getting it remapped after the box is done. Was just about to get it mapped then the box died. Any help advice or even if you have what I need for sale let me know
Thanks.
Thanks.

I replaced my gearbox on my97 wrx with a version 4 Sti box from Matty off here, one of the respected traders. Aslong as you match it with the rear diff to suit you will be fine. Give Matty a ring mate and see if he has anything. Good luck

UK gearboxes are longer geared.
Type R and Type RA gearboxes are suitable for around town B road blast but are poor for motorway/dual carriageway cruising.
WRX/STI gearboxes would be fine.
As has been mentione you need to match it to the correct rear diff

All classic gearboxes are weak but the TY754 (late model 99-00) are slightly stronger due to better casing but they are still pretty poor.
Speak to these guys http://www.enginetuner.co.uk/home.htm see if they have anything that could help you
