STi7 Prodrive Style Foglamp Cover Required
#1
Due to an argument with a fence, I've a damaged nearside foglamp cover piece on a MY2002 STi7 Type UK Prodrive Style. Luckily all damage was confined to this cover and bumper is undamaged so I can simply chuck the old one and bolt on a new one.
Anyone got any bright ideas on who might like to supply me with a replacement (would need to be sprayed WR Blue and have an STi decal applied) by mail order, or would I be better off just going to a local dealer.
Any quotes/suggestion appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

Thanks for the warning to sit down first.
£349-95 for pair of STi7 foglamp covers!!!!! At least the come painted I suppose.
I need a nearside.....anyone need an offside - we could do a deal???
I might have to investigate getting the damaged one repaired....might post a picture soon and see whether people think that's possible.

Scott,
Post some pics of the damage if you can. I had a dirty great 6inch chunk taken out my bumper after hitting a motorway road sign.
Got the bumper repaired for £75 and I can't tell it's been damaged.
Luckily the bumper wasn't cracked, so just a bit of filler, some sanding and respray and was good as new.
I'd defo look at getting yours repaired than forking out £350 for a new set.

OK here's the picture of the damage - what do people think; who to go to, how much, likelyhood of invisible result?
Thanks
Scott
[edited because an invivivisible result is not good enough!]

Scott,
From your pic it doesn't look like it's split. Should just be a matter of sanding down the area, applying some filler, then a re-spray and some layers of lacquer. Should be as good as.
I wouldn't just spray the damaged area, but the whole panel. That way the new paint won't peel and the repair should be invisible. The repair on my bumper is completely invisible. Once it's filled and smoothed and painted you'll not be able to tell it every happened.
I'd be shocked if any bodyshop would charge more than £50 to do it. My old dealer re-sprayed all four of my splash gaurds for £50 after an incident with a Jetwash
Stefan
P.S. I wish I'd taken some pics of my accident. Honestly, the score in the bumper was about 150mm long, 10mm wide and about 5mm deep. People assumed the dealer fitted a brand new bumper. That's how good a finish you should get.

Up until now I haven't mentioned this, but, given that my wife moaned about the fact that I'd put a picture on 'the internet', of the damage SHE inflicted on the car, I need to do something!
So here's a picture of the fence(!):

Yes I did Scott. But I knew the Dealer well for some years, so they gave me a good price. Unfortunately, they've went out of business
I'd get the Dealer to look at it first, then some independant bodyshops. Main hassle would be the independants matching the colour. Shouldn't be a problem in this day and age, but they might be more used to dealing with common colours, like Fords, Vauxhalls, etc. than Scoobs.
Dealer matched the bumper exactly. even did the bonnet at the same time to get rid of stone chips. Still can't tell it's been done.

ROFLMAO
Might not go down to well if you mention that to her
It is a lovely shade of blue though. I'm sure if you offered to buy her a matching handbag and shoes she'd consider it
