Question

I am considering using the Falkland Performance Center,Fife,Scotland to recondition my gearbox which has a tired fourth gear syncro.I would like to hear from anyone with experience of the company or any other company which may also be worth considering.

Took my Cossie powered MKII Mexico to them last year to change the diff. Got about ten miles then a clunking noise started coming from the rear end, so fearing something wrong with the diff I drove the last ten miles very slowly. Once at home I got a real shock- none off the rear wheel nuts had been tightened, most of them were only on by a couple of threads. Luckily the car has Gp4 hubs so no damage was done. Haven't been back to them since.

hmmmmm Some unhappy customers but I can honestly say that I have had first rate service from the Falkland team. Kevin and Alan have shown a keen interest in my Scoob and I am sure they will help me with my STI7. In my opinion they are very knowledgeable and professional with quality products. Give them a ring and chat through your requirements.

Yep i agree with scottish menace! how are you dave!

ive had all my mods done there, brakes suspension etc.
i havent had any trouble at all, and the geometry set up they have done is spot on!

ive driven a couple of other scoobs with different companys set ups and i like mine the best!

have a chat with them and you will see they are friendly and knowledgable.

Never used them for gearbox but have travelled up from Darlington on several ocassions and always been very happy with the work. George in the workshop was very well versed in Subarus.

Always received good service from FPC.

Have used them several times for suspension and brake work. Very happy with the results and they have always looked after the car.

Kevin and Allan are both enthusiasts and regularly race at Knockhill. Give them a call to discuss your fears, they won't bite!

Regards,

Mark

Edited to say that you could always try AWD in Perth (01738 633336) or KBM in Glasgow (0141 882 6757). Both companies have also received very good reports.
