Default Back from Powerstation... and oh my...

Decided it would be a good idea to go and get my car stage 3 powerstaion'd, so it was booked in yesterday for new fuel pump, full 3 inch turbo back decat miltek exhaust system, and then a remap!

What guys down there! Its so professional from start to finish, I was down there for 9 and within 2 minutes they had my car on the ramps molestering it. Theres digital TV in the wait room, along with a ps1 and ps2! Also plenty of long settees (which helped me catch up on sleep from having to wake up @ 6am !)

They came to let us know when they were going for some lunch so we didnt think wtf where is everyone, so we took a 5 minute walk to little chef!

They provided us with earmuffs etc. for the rolling road, as much tea and coffee as we could take, and anything else we needed!

Here are some piccies!! - (I know its dirty )

Also - Video of it YouTube - JDM STi 03 Powerstation Dyno Rolling Road

However - I still have a few questions!!

Great - Now I have much more power etc. but the noise is totally different, its so quiet, I thought a decatted system would actually increase noise, but someone said something about resonaters? Which quieten it down a lot. Is there anyway to remove these - and is it an easy job?

I will need it to be MOT'd at some point, and now I have a 3inch system, any idea how I can get hold of a cat that will fit that?

Thats it really! Lovely job overall from the guys at powerstation through and through!!

And for the powerside of things - Awesome, smooth power delivery all the way through now, and no dead spot between 4-5k revs. Absolutly great job, unbeleivable difference at 60/70+ speeds, cannot thank them enough!

You should have had Andy fit a Milltek sport cat!
Engine sounds great, another top job from PS.

Incidentally, and to take NOTHING from your efforts, have you played the Scoobyclinic vid @ 500 bhp?

Stage 3 is decat full exhaust system, and K&N filter and remap.

I had the filter already @ £200 sigh, so i decided to go for a fuel pump as well!

I rolled it 5 weeks ago and it acheived 313bhp, around 9 months ago i have a print out from power engineering of 330bhp.

Now its 354bhp which im over the moon about!! Just need more noise back lol

Ello mate,

Noise wise part of the reason its quieter is that you have the Equal length headers like me. Have you got and induction kit on it that always makes a bit more noise!!! I've got RCM one which is good.

Glad they sorted yu out with more power and smoother delivery!!!

Yeah I know, but it all comes down to performance, and performance > noise.

You picked up the genome yet mate?!

Where does it show the torque figure?

336 seems a bit low for a JDM, mines got 370ft/lb with similar mods

The torque figure on the last picture shows 456 Nm, (i presume that's the car's torque figure) and converted it to lbs, which is around 336.

Around 330lbs is a common figure on a JDM from Powerstation - did they fit a 3 port solenoid?

Mine is around that at the mo (mapped by PS previously) but i will be visisting Bob R next week and expecting to see approx. 370 for both BHP and torque

It's ok increasing BHP figures, but the torque figure is the one that need to increase to truly give more real life day to day power/performance. I would like to think I should get 340-350 bhp AND very similar torque, i.e, not under 340 lbs, with a Powerstation remap on my JDM 03. Always insist on the torque figure!

My car will be remapped this Monday, so I'll post the all important torque figure when I get home.

At the moment the car is exactly where I want the car, just with less noise. Its a massive difference on performance for me, and I dont need anymore.

They didnt fit a 3port BS by the way, I didnt see a need to just yet. Something for later I feel!

Smile Just back from Powerstation

338 bhp

338 lbs torque @ 3845 rpm

(standard 2 port boost control solenoid fitted. I don't know what a 3 port is or what it exactly does)

Drives very nicely, smooth throughout the rev range and in every gear. Very quick in all gears, manic midrange. I'm happy with the results and more importantly, the driveability of the car.

My mate had a Milltek fitted to his vRS. Loved it to bits but he said that for the first few 1k's the noise was a bit dull. He then said that the tone seemed to change and became much better. Perhaps it's a bedding in thing with the noise
