Anyone used Engines Direct? (Rivermead Engineering Ltd)
Ran the big ends on my wifes Volvo T5 last night, looking for someone to sort it all out. Had quotes of about £1000 as long as no damage done to the crank.
Found these guys on the net and they will reoplace the whole engine for about £1,200.00.
Would be very grateful for any feedback.
Cheers
Andy

are these the people that advertise with flyers attached to lamposts?
If I were you I'd hunt around see if there's a T5 equivalent of scoobynet and ask their advice.
seems very cheap to me tbh

If these people are in the Twickenham or Hounslow area of West London
DON'T
They make television programmes called ' Garages from Hell' about engine specialists in those places. I've been on Channel 4 myself as one of the 'good guys' [ yeah, alright I know ] they are crooks of the highest order. You will find that the bill will probably double once they have the car irretrievably in bits with comments like the rad is knackered, the fuel injection wants overhauling, the turbo's gone, the clutch is knackered, etc etc
As I say on my APi Engines website under consumer advice call Trading Standards and ask for an opinion, they won't tell you much but they are obliged to tell you how many complaints they have about that particular company.
Go anywhere else, or maybe we can help you find a properly reputable supplier of an engine.
Beware.

Thanks for the advice David,
I thought it looked too good to be true! easy for sharks to lurk behind a nice website these days.
I've found someone local that my Dad has used so am going with them.
Cheers
